MANILA – Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings team governor Alfrancis Chua is mum on center Gregory Slaughter’s desire to return to the team after the latter decided to take a break from the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) earlier this year.

Chua said it is still too early to tell whether a possible comeback is on the horizon for Slaughter despite Kings head coach Tim Cone’s enthusiasm to have the Cebuano center back.

Hindi ko muna iniisip ‘yan,” Chua said. “Maybe after the holidays, we can talk in person.”

Slaughter, a four-time PBA champion with the Kings, has issued a public apology to the management of San Miguel Corp. over a misunderstanding that led to his non-renewal of contract this year.

“My intention was purely to improve myself both as a person and as a basketball player,” the 32-year-old veteran wrote. “I have learned so much in the past year, and I am excited to show everyone that the next phase of my career will be the best one yet.”

“My only regret is that the communication between myself and management, particularly Boss Ramon S. Ang and coach Alfrancis Chua, did not go as smoothly as I would have wanted. I want to apologize to them and the rest of management,” he added./PN
