Too late?

IT IS pleasing to see that career choices are moving to the sciences but it’s a pity there are few qualified, experienced science teachers to provide the education they need.

How would sports teams do without their coaches?

Actually, a couple might be better off, but without teachers science will fall into a malaise and astrology will replace astronomy.

Everyone seems to want STEM subjects to be a priority but governments have to support education for this to happen.

Swear to obey

Doctors swear to follow the Hippocratic Oath which requires in simple terms that the doctor does the best they can for their patient and doesn’t cause harm.

This is a simple standard that doctors seem to have no problem following but what of the US doctors’ proposed boss, Robert Kennedy Jr.?

He has expressed a range of contradictory views on medical issues including vaccines, abortions and even the food industry. It is not safe or sensible to allow him to take the position.

Health is far more important than political favos.

Join the dots

With the wave of a magic wand, or actually the scrawl of a sharpie on an executive order, a “concept of a plan” becomes an apparent reality as the Gulf of Mexico becomes the Gulf of America, soon to be confirmed by Google Maps.

What other Trump executive orders could be confirmed on Google Maps? The border line between the US and Canada could be removed in anticipation of a 51st state executive order?

Beware as some jokes aren’t funny if they become reality.

The reality of international borders is far more complex and fluid as demonstrated by the numerous disputed South China Seas maps. Google Maps doesn’t seem to show any of the possible territorial borders, possibly because it’s too difficult or they don’t want to annoy the numerous countries involved.

Will President Trump achieve his “first day” tasks by just getting Google Maps to redraw the Ukraine-Russia border and the Israeli-Palestine territories border?

I’ll fill it in later

The TV coverage showed President Trump’s lawyer giving him folder after folder to sign, initially explaining what he was signing. All that was then seen was a large sharpie signature on what appeared to be blank paper.

Older viewers, especially baby boomers, may remember M*A*S*H with Radar giving Colonel Blake numerous forms to sign including blank ones with the comment “Don’t worry, I’ll fill them in later.”

Has the lawyer given himself a great salary, some property – maybe Canada, or just a pardon for life? No, not likely as lawyers are honest people.

General life hint – always read everything before you sign it./PN
