Top 3 drug suspect in WV busted in Capiz

ROXAS City – Policemen apprehended a top drug suspect in Barangay Mongpong Dulunan here.

The operation, which took place yesterday at 2:45 p.m., led to the arrest of 41-year-old “Ricky” whom the police described as their third highest drug target in the region.

The arrest followed two weeks of meticulous surveillance and undercover transactions by the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RDEU-6).

According to RDEU-6 chief Captain Glenn Soliman, “Ricky” was caught selling P15,000 worth of methamphetamine, locally known as shabu, to a police informant.

Officers subsequently seized 170 grams of shabu valued at approximately P1.1 million from his possession.

Soliman highlighted the previous criminal record of “Ricky”, noting that he was jailed in 2018 for similar offenses but was released a year later through a plea bargain.

“After his release, he resumed his drug trafficking activities, dealing significant quantities,” said Soliman.

Investigations are ongoing. The police believe “Ricky” may be connected to a larger network.

Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), emphasized the strategic focus on high-value targets to dismantle drug networks in the region.

“Our aim is to paralyze the operations of major drug distributors. We will relentlessly pursue all individuals involved in illegal drug trade,” said Wanky.

“Ricky” is now detained at the Roxas City police station and faces charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
