Top drug suspect in Negros Occidental falls

NEGROS Occidental – A high-value drug suspect ranked as Negros Occidental’s fifth most wanted person was arrested on Monday, March 10, on Rizal Street, Barangay 3, San Carlos City.

The 31-year-old alias “Joebert”, a jobless resident of the city’s Barangay Rizal, was apprehended through the strength of a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court, Sixth Judicial Region, Branch 59.

The operation was carried out by the San Carlos Component City Police Station, with support from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office’s Intelligence Unit, 1st Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the 605th Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6.

The suspect is now in the custody of the San Carlos Component City Police Station. No bail bond was recommended for his temporary release.

Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), praised law enforcement personnel for their relentless pursuit of fugitives.

“The said arrest significantly contributes to reducing crime in the region. We also acknowledge the vigilance of the community, whose cooperation has led to successful operations like this,” Wanky said./PN
