CITED especially for advancing the cause of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, the Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP) – Iloilo Chapter emerged as the No. 1 FPOP organization in the country as it garnered the highest program performance rating for 2022.
This was revealed by chapter program manager Mona Liza S. Diones during the local General Membership Assembly at the FPOP office in Iloilo on Thursday, June 22.
Besting 11 other FPOP chapters nationwide, Iloilo was closely followed by Metro Manila, SOCCSKSARGEN, and Cavite.
Under Dionesā leadership, with the full support of the local board, the chapter executive committee, and various volunteers, Iloilo climbed to the top position from Rank 3 in 2021, and Rank 6 in 2019.
During the May 2023 annual FPOP national assembly at the Manila Grand Opera Hotel, where the work was recognized, Iloilo chapter board president, Atty. Jon Cerlan Bangoy, was also elected as National Executive Committee corporate secretary.
In addition to various program updates and report presentations, the June 22 assembly also invited other Ilonggo sectors including education, NGOs, healthcare, LGBTQIA, media, and business in the hope to recruit new volunteers to help realize the FPOP vision of a world in which āall Filipinos are enjoying quality life in the context of sustainable development, and are empowered to decide freely on their sexuality and well-being in a society without discrimination.ā/PN
