Top-performing police stations cited

ILOILO – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) recognized yesterday police stations that performed well in campaigns against loose guns, illegal drugs, illegal gambling, and wanted persons from January to September this year.

The awarding ceremony was held at the IPPO headquarters in Camp Sumagaysay, Santa Barbara town.

Calinog police station topped the Oplan “KATOK” (Tokhang Kontra Guinadili-an nga Pusil). A total of 171 firearms were deposited or surrendered to it.

Pototan police station was second with 142 firearms gathered.

In the campaign against illegal drugs, Oton police station bested its counterparts. It arrested 10 drug personalities and confiscated over five grams of shabu.

Meanwhile, Passi City police station was adjudged the best in police community relations.

In the drive against wanted persons, Barotac Viejo police station had the most number arrests made at 28, followed by Lambunao police station with 25 arrests.

The police station of Lemery, on the other hand, was commended for making the municipality the “most peaceful place” for having the lowest number of crimes these past nine months.
