ILOILO – The provincial government recognized its top taxpayers in an awards ceremony organized by the Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO).
Provincial Treasurer Jean Maire Umadhay said the event on Wednesday, June 26, celebrated individuals and corporations who significantly contributed to the province’s economic success through their diligent tax payments in 2023.
“Good governance is not just an objective in Iloilo; it is a standard, the way we operate. We ensure that every cent of your money is accounted for,” said Provincial Administrator Raul Banias during the ceremony.
For this part, the chairperson of the Committee on Appropriations of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP), Board Member Domingo Oso Jr., emphasized the critical role of taxpayers in nation-building and local development.
“Taxes are the lifeblood of a nation; without them, no government can operate. They are essential for development and progress, and by paying these taxes, you are supporting our government in nation-building and in developing our province,” said Oso.
The ceremony acknowledged the top taxpayers in various categories:
* Top 20 Real Property Tax Payers (Individual Category) for the calendar year 2023
* Top 20 Real Property Tax Payers (Corporate Category) for the calendar year 2023
* Top 3 Taxpayers of Annual Fixed Tax on Delivery Trucks and Vans for the calendar year 2023
* Top 3 Taxpayers of Amusement Tax for the calendar year 2023
