ILOILO City – A tornado tore through business establishments past 11 a.m. yesterday, Aug. 30, in Barangay Tagbak in Jaro district.
According to Odie Esquera, 51, owner of a car dealership, nine vehicles were damaged when the tin roofs fell.
“Nag-process ko sang mga papeles sang mga salakyan, timing lang gid nga pabalik na ko sang natabo ang buhawi,” Esquera told Panay News. “Wala ta may mahimo sini kay desgrasya, paliwat ta gid kag pamaklan tanan,”
Two workers at the establishment sustained minor injuries.
Alias “Jefrey” was taken to the hospital due to injuries to his foot and mouth, while “Roger,” who sustained scratches, received first aid.
“Nag todo ang ulan, nanilong ko anay, nakita ko gid paghul-ab sang hangin, gulpihada lang gid, segundos lang gid sang gin hakwat niya ang mga atop,” said “Dondon,” also one of the workers.
No houses were damaged, according to the City Social Welfare and Development Office./PN
