ILOILO City – Tourism attaches and market representatives will visit Iloilo, Guimaras and Capiz provinces for a tourism post audit this week.
Tourism attaches and market representatives are assigned to destinations in the region that match the travel demands and preference of their markets based on the 2016 Product-Market Matching Workshop.
Assigned to visit Iloilo, Guimaras and Capiz tourist destinations on Oct. 25 to 28 are tourism attaches from China, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, and Indonesia.
“DOT Region 6 is happy to welcome the tourism attaches and market representatives for they will see how Western Visayas develop into one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in the country,” said regional director Helen Catalbas.
She added that it is also “a great opportunity to market the tourist destinations.”
“Familiarization with the local products of Western Visayas for international tourists through these overseas officers is one way of strengthening the region’s position in the Asian tourist market,” Catalbas stressed.
There will be a dialogue between the tourism attaches and the stakeholders of the tourist destinations they will be visiting “to provide deeper and direct marketing opportunities.”
Aside from Iloilo, Guimaras and Capiz, a product audit will be conducted also in Albay, Sorsogon, El Nido, Palawan, Bohol, Siquijor, Siargao, and Surigao del Norte. (With DOT Region 6/PN)
