CEBU City – A tourist van carrying foreigners fatally hit a 64-year-old woman crossing the national highway in Malabuyoc, Cebu.
Reports reaching the Cebu Police Provincial Office said Gaudencia Tupas suddenly crossed the highway past 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
A tourist van – driven by the 42-year-old Archie Fortun of Cebu City – hit her.
Tupas was brought to the Malabuyoc District Hospital where the attending physician pronounced her “dead on arrival.”
The van carried tourists who visited Oslob town for whale shark, or butanding, watching.
Fortun had his passengers transferred to another vehicle before surrendering to the police. (PNA/PN)
