BACOLOD City – Three motorcycle-riding assassins fatally shot a neophyte councilor of the municipality of Sta. Catalina, Negros Oriental over the weekend.
Rhode Anthony Vulfa Melodia had multiple gunshot wounds. He died while being treated at the Bayawan City District Hospital.
From what the Sta. Catalina police gathered so far, the 29-year-old Melodia was washing his car in his residence in Purok 3, Barangay Poblacion, Sta. Catalina when attacked around 7:10 a.m. on Sunday.
Three suspects on board two motorcycles peppered the councilor with bullets. They then sped away to an undetermined direction.
Recovered from the crime scene were four empty shells of a .45-caliber gun.
The motive and identity of the suspects as of this writing remain unknown. Investigation was ongoing./PN
