BACOLOD City – Traffic enforcers of the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) will each receive a P3,000 reimbursement for their uniform expenses.
Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez has issued this directive to Executive Assistant I Patrick Lacson, the officer-in-charge (OIC) of the BTAO, following his meeting last week with several traffic enforcers.
“They have to pay for their uniforms, so before they can start their duties, they need to shell out P3,000 for the uniform,” the mayor emphasized. “Lacson will conduct an audit to validate who has already paid and who has not.”
The BTAO has approximately 300 personnel.
Lacson added that although the BTAO’s 2024 budget operates retroactively, there is still enough funding available for the personnel’s uniforms. He also mentioned that some job order casuals might face termination due to the ongoing inventory and assessment.
Lacson was appointed as the head of the BTAO on November 1st, replacing Police Major Junji Liba amid allegations of corruption in the office./PN
