SAN JOSE, Antique – Gov. Rhodora Cadiao said they are planning to transfer the capitol building to escape the “busy” business district of this capital town.
Cadiao on Wednesday said they plan to transfer the capitol in Barangay Supa, which is about 5 kilometers from the present location of the provincial government building.
“We are looking for a wider space where to transfer the capitol,” the governor added.
But she stressed that this plan would only be carried out if she succeed in her reelection bid in the May 13, 2019 elections.
The current location of Antique’s capitol is surrounded by many business establishments.
The current capitol was constructed in 1957, after the old one was gutted by fire during the American period. (With PNA/PN)
