BACOLOD City – The City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) and City Engineer’s Office (CEO) can cut down trees obstructing the roads in this city, said the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP).
Last week, the SP approved a resolution enjoining the CDRRMO and CEO to facilitate the clearing of roadside trees with overgrown branches that causes obstructions and possible accidents.
Councilor Cindy Rojas, author of the resolution, said these road-obstructing trees can be detrimental to the safety of houses in the vicinity as well as the riding public.
“With the onset of rainy season, we are expecting a considerable number of weather disruptions that might be carrying strong winds,” she said.
The CDRRMO, according to Rojas, is the prime office tasked to ensure the city’s safety from any possible accident caused by strong winds.
“The CEO, meanwhile, is the implementing arm of the local government unit in removing such obstructions that might cause accidents along our major roads in this city,” she added./PN
