ILOILO CITY – Mayor Jerry Treñas has vowed to financially support the city Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation.
The city mayor committed a P1-million fund for their initial budget.
“May pundo man ang SK kag I will look for my own funds so that I can give assistance sa mga SK naton,” said Treñas who administered the oath of office of the newly-elected SK Federation officials yesterday.
The newly-elected SK Federation president is 23-year-old Jelma Crystel Implica from Barangay Jereos, La Paz. She is a registered nurse.
Treñas is hoping for Implica to be a team player as she joins the Sangguniang Panlungsod as an ex-officio member representing their sector.
She is in her second term as SK chair of Barangay Jereos and served as Public Relations Officer of the federation during her first term.
For her part, Implica said she ran with pure intentions and the passion to serve her fellow youth in Iloilo City has driven her to seek the post.
She said they would sit down to formulate their plans, programs, and activities for the youth.
“Amon gid ni siya nga pure intention to serve gid sa youth sang Iloilo kag para mapanami pa gid ang mga programa para mapalab-ot namon ang nagkalain-lain nga services sang government para sa aton mga kabataan,” she said./PN
