ILOILO City – Mayor Jerry Treñas dispelled public concerns about his health, reassuring his constituents and the public that he is in good health and fully capable of performing his duties as the mayor.
This comes in response to speculations about his health when Treñas was seldom seen in public engagements.
“Maayo man akon pamatyag except sa akon sinus kay diri ko gin-operahan kay pirme lang ko gina-sinusitis,” Treñas told reporters in a press briefing.
He admitted to losing 20 pounds after being given Ozempic, a prescription medication used primarily to manage blood sugar levels in adults.
“Amo na nag niwang ko kay dula gana mo. Nag-lose weight ako daw mga 20 pounds. But I am healthy sa iban nga bagay. I am ready to fight,” he said.
On Aug. 4, Treñas announced that his doctor advised him to be confined to the hospital due to his “persistent sinusitis” for him to get a full checkup and complete rest./PN
