ILOILO City – Mayor Jerry Treñas was hailed first among the top performing city mayors in the country.
Treñas received a rating of 93.07% in public office as well as public trust, according to a recent national performance survey of the RP-Mission and Development Foundation, Inc. (RPMD) conducted from Sept. 20 to 30 this year.
“I am very grateful to my fellow Ilonggos, especially here in Iloilo City, for their continued trust and confidence in my leadership. For me, this is a recognition and validation of all the hard work and dedication of all the men and women in the City Government,” the city mayor said.
He added that the achievement will serve as an inspiration for his administration in doing better as well as to come up with more initiatives for the whole Ilonggo community.
“I dedicate all our efforts to our people. I will continue to do my best, hoping to serve as an inspiration to my fellow public servants and leaders,” said Treñas.
As
Aside from Treñas, other top performing city mayors are Quezon City’s Mayor Joy Belmonte with a rating of 94.08%, Candon City’s Mayor Eric Singsong (93.31%), Malabon City’s Mayor Jeannie Sandoval (93.16%), and Dumaguete City’s Mayor Ipe Remollo (93.05%).
The survey recognized the city mayors based on seven criteria:

* Financial acumen
* Economic progress
* Leadership governance
* Environmental conservation
* Social initiatives
