Tricycle driver abducted, found dead in E.B. Magalona

BACOLOD City – A tricycle driver abducted by four unidentified men at around 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 8 in Barangay 13 here was found dead by the roadside in E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental.

Captain Eric Doronila, acting chief-of-police of the municipality, identified the driver as Julius Dumip-ig, 33, of Barangay 35, Bacolod City.

Dumip-ig had a gunshot wound and bruises on the body.

Two passersby got curious with a sack they spotted by the roadside at about 5:40 a.m. on Jan. 9.  They opened it and were surprised to find a dead man.

They immediately alerted the town police.

Major Ramil Sarona, commander of Police Station 1 in Bacolod City, confirmed having received a report about the abduction on Jan. 8.

Dumip-ig’s live-in partner told the police station that the former was forcibly made to enter a grey van along Palanca Road in the Reclamation Area.

No suspects have so far been identified.
