ROXAS City – A total of 2,000 tricycle drivers and farmers in this city were given cash assistance yesterday morning.
Uswag Ilonggo Party-list’s Rep. James “Jojo” Ang led the distribution of P1,000 fuel subsidy to each recipient, together with Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, Paolo Roxas and the Department of Social Welfare and Development, at the Don Ynocencio Del Rosario Gym in Barangay Dayao here.
Uswag Ilonggo, in a Facebook post said, the cash assistance is a big help to the drivers amid rising prices of fuel and basic commodities.
Each recipient farmer meanwhile received P3,000.
Also, 600 members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQ+) in the city each received P3,000 financial aid from the party-list.
Dadivas, in an interview, said he asked assistance from Uswag Ilonggo, particularly for farmers who are affected by the ongoing El Niño phenomenon.
