BACOLOD City – A tricycle fell off a bridge in Barangay Patag, Silay City, Negros Occidental, killing one person and injuring four others.
The casualty was identified as the 28-year-old Reymond Ogsayon of Barangay Banquerohan, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
Ogsayon’s brother Darryl, 25, was injured along with two other passengers Nino Jomillo, 25, of La Carlota City, Negros Occidental and Rosbe Jepellago, 51, of Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City. The 31-year-old driver Kenneth Maalat of Barangay 7, Bacolod City was also hurt.
They were all rushed to the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City where Ogsayon – who sustained series head injuries – was pronounced “dead on arrival” by attending physician Dr. Mel Serondo at 4:32 p.m. on Sunday.
The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. on the same day.
Police said Maalat lost control of the tricycle while they were navigating the Patag-Lantawan Road.
Maalat, who sustained head and leg injuries, was later transferred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod for further treatment./PN
