ANTIQUE – A tricycle driver died and his four passengers sustained injuries after crashing against a delivery truck on the national highway in Sitio Cala-Cala, Barangay Poblacion in Sebaste, Antique.
Leon Ambos, 63, of Barangay Idio, Sebaste, succumbed to a severe head injury while being transported to Sebaste Community Hospital; while currently receiving medical treatment are Aquilina Ambos, 69; Kirk Aranas, five years old; Mary Lucille Aranas, 39, all residents of Barangay Idio; and Julie Abao, 69, of Barangay Callan, Sebaste.
Investigation of the Sebaste Municipal Police Station revealed that the front tire of the tricycle blew up, causing it to veer off to the other lane and hit the oncoming delivery truck traveling in the opposite direction around 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21.
The truck driver was identified as Joseph Manigos, 40, of Barangay Cubay, Jaro, Iloilo City. Manigos was held in custody by the Sebaste police./PN
