illanes IV on Monday challenged President Rodrigo Duterte to expose the senator’s alleged misuse of government funds.
“[G]o ahead Mr. Duterte, ilabas mo ‘yung gusto mong ilabas, isabay mo na rin ‘yung P2-billion bank deposits na ninakaw mo sa kaban ng bayan,” Trillanes said referring to his claim that the former mayor has amassed P2,407 billion in undeclared funds.
On Sunday night, Duterte accused Trillanes, including former president Benigno Aquino IV and former Department of Budget and Management secretary Florencio Abad, of misusing their Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) and Disbursement Acceleration Program allocation.
“Kayong mga media ngayon try… Bakit ang gobyerno lang… Bakit hindi niyo kakalkalin ‘yang… Bakit hindi niyo kalkalin si Abad? Anong nagawa ni Abad? Si PNoy? Despite of a Constitutional ruling na bawal ‘yang DAP, they continue to do it as if it was nobody’s business. Hindi pa luma… Eh ngayon gusto ko nang ilabas lahat ‘yan. Lahat pati ‘yung sila Trillanes ‘yung DAP nila, lahat ilabas ko. Ilan ang natanggap nila? Paano nila nagastos?” the President said after his visit to wounded-in-action officers at the Camp Evangelista Station Hospital in Cagayan de Oro City.
In 2013, the Supreme Court (SC) declared as unconstitutional the PDAF due to the alleged scam involving the diversion of pork barrel funds of several lawmakers.
A year after, SC also released its DAP ruling declaring parts of Aquino’s “stimulus program” unconstitutional.
“All my allocations for projects through PDAF/DAP have been listed on my website. All these have been audited by COA,” concluded Trillanes, a former Navy official./PN
