ILOILO City – A truck driver was stabbed at the Iloilo Fishing Port in Barangay Tanza Baybay, City Proper.
Jerry Barrios, 36, of Barangay Tanao-an, Estancia, Iloilo sustained a stab wound on the left side of his body. He was taken to the Iloilo Doctors’ Hospital.
Two suspects were identified — truck helpers Roque Camantigue and Roberto Estrada, both 18 years old and residents of Barangay Buenavista, Calatrava, Negros Occidental.
Barrios told Police Station 1 he was on his way to their sleeping quarters around 6:30 p.m. on May 21 when Camantigue stabbed him. Estrada attacked him, too, he claimed. Barrios said he was clueless why.
Security guard Nicandro Mahusay caught Camantigue and turned him over to the police around 7 p.m., while Estrada was arrested around 8:30 p.m. Both were detained at the Police Station 1 lockup cell./PN
