CAPIZ – A tuck helper died after their vehicle collided with a parked canter truck early Tuesday morning, November 12 in Barangay Aglalana, Dumarao town in this province.
The 54-year-old alias “Don” from Roxas City, was trapped inside the truck.
Dumarao police said despite efforts to rescue him and rush him to the nearest hospital, he was pronounced dead upon arrival by the attending physician due to severe body injuries .
According to the Dumarao Municipal Police Station, the accident happened around 1 a.m. as the truck was en route to Roxas City. The driver reportedly failed to notice the stationary canter truck on the roadside, leading to a devastating crash.
The truck driver identified as alias “Peter” complained of body pains from the collision. He was in stable condition at the hospital.
As of this writing, Dumarao police said they were still investigating the incident to determine if negligence played a role in the fatal crash./PN
