BACOLOD City – An 11-year-old boy died after a cargo truck overran him at the Reclamation Area in Barangay 14, a police report showed.
The boy identified as Christian Savillo, a resident of Barangay 14, was deaf and mute, police said.
The 10-wheeler truck loaded with sacks of sugar was driven by the 37-year-old Escalante City, Negros Occidental resident Reagan Requiron.
The incident happened on May 29.
Savillo was behind the truck when Requiron drove it backwards.
According to Requiron, he did not see the boy.
Requiron was now in the custody of Police Station 1. A homicide complaint was filed against him.
But Savillo’s family said they were willing to agree on a settlement with Requiron, since what happened was only an accident./PN
