ANTIQUE – A seven-year-old boy was accidentally ran over by a 14-wheeler truck in Barangay Villavert-Jimenez, Hamtic town at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 23.
Phil Angelo Arzaga died on the spot. His 63-year-old grandfather Felimon Cordova who was with him on a motorcycle sustained injuries and was treated at the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital in San Jose de Buenavista town.
Their motorcycle accidentally hit a dog, causing them to fall and subsequently run over by a truck trailing behind, according to Staff Sergeant Rymyr Mabaquiao of Hamtic.
Truck driver Jorly Dela Peña, 47, was a resident of Barangay Bandiangon, President Roxas, Capiz.
Dela Peña was from Iloilo and bound for Laua-an, Antique to deliver bags of cement. He surrendered to the police and may face charges of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide, serious physical injuries and damage to properties.
