‘Twas the days after Christmas

AND THE “devotees to the cult of the yellow ribbon”, the Frappuccino-infused so-called millennials, trendy social climbers and the rest of the gullible idiots woke up the morning after Christmas that Rodrigo Duterte is still the President of the Republic of the Philippines.

It must have been a sad quite painful reality and bitter pill to swallow. Despite all the pray-overs, the homilies, the prayer rallies and the millions spent on propaganda and other stupid stunts, only three percent of the entire population of the archipelago believed in them.

One can imagine the really fervent prayers during the 16 days of Misa de Gallo or Simbang Gabi asking for the downfall of President Rodrigo Duterte that went unanswered or perhaps were just ignored by God who, in His infinite wisdom, saw through the hypocrisy of the so-called disente.

It was probably the benevolence of the Lord that He did not rain fire and brimstone on these hypocrites, after all they’re just trendy gullible idiots.

If by now you’re offended and complaining that this is already way too condescending, of course it is, the intention is to piss you off and make you squirm in your knickers.

But don’t fret. In the spirit of the season we’ll lighten it up a bit;  please allow your children to believe in Santa Claus, after all, some “adults” believe in Leni Robredo and Antonio Trillanes while some so-called “eskolar ng bayan” are even willing to die for Joma Sison.

See, you’re laughing already like Santa Claus…and hohoho to you, too.

And if you think that Rodrigo Duterte still remains President despite all the efforts to bring him down is way too much, here’s more:

Excerpts from the Dec. 20, 2019 issue of The Daily Tribune:

Pulse Asia: Rody gets new high approval

President Rodrigo Duterte’s approval rating continues to soar as pollster Pulse Asia revealed that the President had 87 percent in December – at least nine notches higher than the previous approval rating.

The poll – conducted on 3 to 8 December using face-to-face interviews with 1,200 respondents aged 18 years old and above nationwide – was welcomed by the Duterte administration’s economic team and attributed it to the lower poverty rate and a festive mood following the country’s hosting of the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games).

Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III and Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto Pernia on Friday showed the results of the poll and compared the performance ratings of the President in September and December 2019.

It showed that the President’s approval rating across the Philippines in December rose from 78 percent of respondents in September, while disapproval of Duterte’s performance declined by three percentage points from five percent and eight percent previously.

However, Duterte’s approval rating in the National Capital Region declined by two percentage points to 78 percent, even as the rest of the country gave Duterte higher ratings than two months ago.

In the balance of Luzon, his approval climbed 14 percentage points to 83 percent; in the Visayas, up nine percentage points to 93 percent; and in Mindanao, up six percentage points to 98 percent.

Duterte remained popular to both males — up two percentage points to 87 percent and females — up 16 percentage points to 88 percent, according to the Pulse Asia survey.

Dominguez said the good performance of Filipino athletes during the recently concluded 30th SEA Games—where the Philippines amassed the most gold medals to snatch the overall championship among 11 participating countries—would further boost Duterte’s approval ratings.

Ouch!  That must have really hurt and that is called rubbing salt to the wound, and no amount of attacks throwing everything, including the kitchen sink and the septic tank, by Maria Ressa and her Rappletes, the Philippine Daily Inquirer and ABS-CBN will change the fact that President Rodrigo Duterte remains as popular and supported by the natives more than ever .

Meanwhile we have Vice President Leni Robredo just being her usual self – an utterly useless spare tire desperate to be relevant.

Excerpts from the Dec. 18, 2019 issue of Panay News:

‘She only wants attention’

Palace slams Robredo for deferring release of drug war report

“Her (Robredo) decision to call a press briefing to announce that there is no press briefing, while flashing her 40-page report, reveals that she only wants the spotlight,” Panelo said in a press conference on Tuesday.

“She has deferred her report a number of times, looking for a perfect timing and hoping that people would pay attention to her as she struggles to be relevant…” he added.

Robredo on Monday called a press conference to announce the postponement of her release of her discoveries and recommendation on the government’s drug war during her short stint as co-chair of the Inter-agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs due to the earthquake that hit Davao del Sur last Sunday.

Duterte’s spokesman also said it was Robredo who announced that she would release her report in the first place, hyping public expectation.

It is not as if when the Vice President speaks, the world will stop and the government will halt its operations to provide assistance in Davao,” he added.

Perhaps Robredo has really nothing significant to report and she’s just waiting to be overtaken by events hoping the natives will forget her so-called report. (brotherlouie16@gmail.com/PN)
