CAPIZ – Two fishermen were caught in the act of illegal fishing in the waters under the jurisdiction of the municipality of Panay, Capiz.
The apprehended individuals, whose names were withheld by the police, are residents of Barangay Tinigban, Carles, Iloilo.
Among the confiscated items during the operation on Wednesday, March 6, were one unit pump boat worth P150,000; two units 20HP diesel engine worth P30,000; a fishing net with complete accessories worth P200,000; and more or less ten 10 kilos of assorted fish with a market value of P5,000.
The confiscated equipment was turned over to the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office of Panay for proper disposition./PN
