ILOILO – Two motorcycle-riding individuals died while their minor companion was injured after their vehicle figured in a road accident with a truck and a top-down tricycle in Barangay Nanga, Pototan, Iloilo yesterday afternoon.
Pototan police identified the fatalities as Jose Ramil and his back rider Jezrel Ace Canites, 18. They were both residents of the town’s Barangay Cansilayan.
Another motorcycle back rider, a 15-year-old girl, suffered injuries in the different parts of her body. She was recuperating at the hospital.
Police also said that Glen Ignacio, 30, from Barangay Cansilayan, and driver of the top-down tricycle, sustained minor body injuries.
Investigations revealed that the motorcycle overtook a truck driven by Agustin Lazara, 21, and it subsequently crashed into the top-down tricycle.
As of this writing, Lazara was detained at the Pototan Municipal Police Station for proper disposition./PN
