ILOILO – Two drug suspects were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation by the Pototan Municipal Police and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit in Barangay Cato-ogan, Pototan on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 26.
The operation’s main subject was Kenneth Jaime Demandante, 28 and a cook. With him was suspect Dryden Begota, 32. Both were residents of Barangay Tubungan, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.
“This was supposed to be my last illegal drug use before I turn over a new leaf, but I got arrested,” Demandante said during his seizure.
Meanwhile, Begota admitted to being arrested before for marijuana.
Eight sachets of shabu, weighing 17 grams and with a market value of P115,000, were recovered.
The suspects, detained at the Pototan police station, will face charges under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act./PN
