ROXAS City – Two radio networks are joining this year’s Capiztahan of the provincial government of Capiz from April 20 to 23.

Activities courtesy of dyVR RMN and dyOW Bombo Radyo Philippines will entertain the crowd, adding color to the four-day event.

DyVR RMN will continue with the dyVR Baroto Race, banca race along Panay River now on its seventh year, said Station Manager Elizer Abarra.

Meanwhile the Battle of the Bands and Dance Showdown of dyOW Bombo Radyo will continue to entertain the audience at the Dinggoy Roxas Civic Center. It is best for band and dancing aficionados, said Station Manager Amy dela Cruz.

Meanwhile, capitol under Gov. Antonio del Rosario allocated P11.4 million for Capiztahan.

Highlights include “Triaksyon,” a triathlon, with local and international athletes joining; Parade of Lights; Sadsad Capiz, which will showcase the culture of Capisnons; agro-industrial trade fair; and fireworks competition.

Fiesta Capiznon will feature food specialties of every town, including seafood like crabs, prawns and oysters, fish, native chicken, and other native delicacies. It will be held at the Capiz Gymnasium.

“We just want to prove that Capiz is the Seafood Capital of the Philippines,” said del Rosario.

Capiztahan marks the 116th founding anniversary of the civil government of Capiz and the commemoration of the 69th death anniversary of President Manuel Acuña Roxas, the province’s “most illustrious son.”

Other activities include the wreath-laying for the late Roxas, Capiztahan job fair, night market (bazaar and street food fest), nightly fireworks display, Kapamilya Caravan, 6th National Invitational Arnis Tournament, Regional Cooperative Summit, Capiztahan Governor’s Cup 2017, 1st Governor Tony del Rosario Capiztahan Regional Taekwondo Tournament Championship, and Rendezvous with a Smile, and a lot more, del Rosario said./PN
