Babylove Barbon and Gen Eslapor extended the Golden Tigresses’ winning streak to six games following a 21-12, 21-11 win over University of the East Lady Warriors’ Lyen Ritual and Juliet Catindig.
The Lady Spikers’ Ernestine Tiamzon and Justine Jazareno turned back Ateneo Lady Eagles’ Pauline Gaston and Ilongga Roma Mae Doromal, 21-15, 21-19, to also remain perfect.
The Golden Tigresses and the Lady Spikers are set to break their tie at 6-0 win-loss record when they faced off at the close of the elimination round on Wednesday in a rematch of last year’s finale.
Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws’ Sheena Gallentes and Sheila Mae Kiseo (4-2) also gained a semifinals seat following a 21-9, 21-8 rout of National University Lady Bulldogs’ Andrea Abian and Chlea dela Fuente.
University of the Philippines Lady Maroons’ Roselyn Rosier and Euri Eslapor rallied from a set down to beat Adamson University Lady Falcons’ Kring Uy and Chen Ave, 16-21, 21-19, 15-13, to keep its semis hopes alive.
The Lady Eagles are clinging at the No. 4 spot at 3-3, a game ahead of the Lady Maroons and the Lady Falcons, both sporting 2-4 slates in joint fifth./PN
