MANILA – Wello Lingolingo knocked down a tough game-winner as University of the East Red Warriors pulled off 63-62 victory over Adamson University Falcons in the UAAP Season 87 men’s basketball on Sunday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Trailing 61-62 with 21 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, Red Warriors’ Nikko Mulingtapang attempted a go-ahead basket but was defended well by the Falcons’ frontline.
Lingolingo, however, managed to grab the offensive rebound before he pulled up for a tough banked fadeaway basket at the buzzer, giving the Red Warriors a one-point victory.
Lingolingo finished the game with 10 points, five rebounds, and three steals off the bench as the Red Warriors bagged their fifth consecutive victory to improve to a 5-2 win-loss slate.

Meanwhile, De La Salle University Green Archers squandered a double-digit lead before pulling off with a 68-56 victory over University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons.
Leading by as many as 20 points in the second quarter, the Green Archers saw their lead dissipate via huge third quarter run by the Fighting Maroons to tie the score at 42-all.
The Green Archers, however, quickly restored order with conversions from Kevin Quiambao, Joshua David, Vhoris Marasigan, and Michael Phillips to restore a double-digit lead the rest of the way.
