“Of course, pumapasok talaga sa isip namin na it might be our last game, but kino-cross out namin,” said Madayag. “Lalaban talaga kami. We won’t go down without a fight. Today’s game, we really played our best. We really worked as a team.”
After come-from-behind wins in the first and third set, the Lady Eagles pounded on the hapless Golden Tigresses with a 20-8 start to ensure that the match would be stretched to a do-or-die Game 3 on Saturday.
Making it worse for the Game 1 winner Golden Tigresses was Rookie of the Year awardee Ejiya Laure sustaining a mild sprain injury, making her doubtful for the all-important match.
Most Valuable Player Sisi Rondina scored 22 points off 18 attacks, three kill blocks and an ace while Laure had 10 markers for the Golden Tigresses, which is in search for its first UAAP title in eight years./PN
