THE United Kingdom’s Victoria Repollo Inglis, a model of Filipino heritage, has officially entered the Top 12 of the 2025 Miss Eco International pageant in Egypt ahead of the final competition.

Inglis, whose mother is from Pangasinan and whose father has roots in Ilocos, topped the pageant’s “Resort Wear Competition” held at Paradise Island in Hurghada on Monday, April 14.

“You’ve officially earned your first spot in the Top 12 for the Grand Final Night!” the Miss Eco International pageant posted on social media, accompanied by a photo of Inglis with reigning queen Angelina Usanova.

Inglis edged out Camille Valverde from Costa Rica, Felia Kacemi from Algeria, Luisa Fernanda from Venezuela, and Blessing Dietake from Nigeria for the distinction.

Alexie Brooks from the Philippines made it to the Top 10 of the Resort Wear Competition in an orange two-piece bikini with flowy “wings” in golden yellow fabric, designed by Maria Glenn, and wearing shoes by Jojo Bragais.

The IIongga national athlete and model is currently leading the online poll for “Miss Eco People’s Choice,” whose winner will earn a guaranteed spot in the Top 10 during the final competition.

After offering one free vote per day to voters on its online voting platform, the global tilt is now giving fans more power to support their respective bets.

“Cast your free vote now, exclusively on the Eventista platform! After your free vote, boost your support with a 50% bonus points on paid votes afterward,” the Miss Eco International pageant said on social media, where additional details on voting are also posted.

As of 8 a.m. yesterday, Brooks has maintained her lead with 32,027 votes on the Eventista platform. She has also recorded the highest views on the Ecotourism Video race on the pageant’s YouTube account.

She is competing for the Philippines’ third Miss Eco International victory, following Cynthia Thomalla in 2018 and Kathleen Paton in 2022.

The 2025 Miss Eco International final competition show will be held at the AlZahraa Ballroom of Hilton Green Plaza in Alexandria on April 19 (April 20 in Manila). (Armin P. Adina © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
