BACOLOD City — Police arrested an uncle and his nephew during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Canmoros, Binalbagan Monday afternoon.
Paolo Florete Miranda, 38, married and his nephew Stephen Tinasas Miranda, 20, were arrested by Binalbagan police.
The two were nabbed after handing a sachet of shabu to a poseur-buyer in a buy-bust operation, said Binalbagan Chief of Police Officer Alberty Sy.
Sy said Miranda who was on the police watch list, used his nephew as courier in his illegal business.
Two heat-sealed suspected shabu worth P6, 000 were recovered during the operation, said Sy.
Police also confiscated another small sachet of suspected shabu, one improvised tooter, two disposable lighters, one digital weighing scale, one pack of plastic wrappers and seven cellular phones.
In another buy-bust operation on August 20, Arnulfo Orense of Barangay Talacdan, Cauayan was nabbed after handing marijuana cigarette to a poseur-buyer on a bus along Barangay San Vicente.
A small brick of dried marijuana leaves and 40 more sticks of marijuana cigarettes were confiscated during the operation.
The suspects are detained in Binalbagan PNP jail.
Thay face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /PN
