ILOILO – Four sacks of undocumented firecrackers were confiscated by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) at the Circumferential Road 1 (C1) in Barangay Sooc, Arevalo district on Dec. 28.

BFP-Iloilo City personnel led by Fire Chief Inspector Vencie Jojo P. Aldeguer headed to C1 to inspect firecracker vendors when they noticed a tricycle loaded with four sacks.

Suspicious, Aldeguer instructed the tricycle driver, Vic Natalio, 34, of Barangay Mohon, Arevalo, and Elvira Villanueva, 48, of Barangay San Jose, Arevalo and the owner of the sacks, to park the vehicle.

The sacks contained about 2,000 pieces of candle bombs or kamara.
