BACOLOD City — Delegates in this year’s University Games (UniGames) are expected to arrive in Iloilo City on Oct. 19 and 20.
University of San Agustin will host the 19th UniGames on Oct. 20 to 28.
About 60 colleges and universities across the country are expected to participate in the 13-discipline national sporting event, said UniGames president Roger Banzuela.
There will be a technical official meeting 9 a.m. on October 21, while the opening ceremony will be at 5 p.m.
Private and public colleges and universities participate in UniGames.
Banzuela said six more schools may join starting this year: Arellano University, Philippine Normal University, Wesleyan University in Nueva Ecija, St. Joseph College in Bulacan, San Pedro College in Davao, and Philippine State College of Aeronautics in Pasay City.
Athletics, badminton, basketball, chess, football, karatedo, lawn tennis, sepak takraw, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, and beach volleyball will be played./PN
