BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) will stage a unity walk and covenant signing for a “peaceful and credible” conduct of the May 13, 2019 midterm elections.
The activity is set tomorrow, in partnership with the Commission on Elections – Bacolod office.
BCPO spokesman Chief Inspector Ariel Pico said the walk will start from the old city hall and will end at the public plaza, the venue of the covenant signing.
Election candidates; the Philippine Army’s 303rd Brigade; local officials from the Department of Interior and Local Government, Department of Education, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology; barangay peacekeeping action teams; media members; multi-faith organizations; and the Muslim community are expected to join the activity.
“The BCPO hopes for a peaceful conduct of elections this 2019,” said Pico, adding that they look forward to the “support and commitment” of candidates to their security meaasures./PN
