University of San Agustin hosting 2014 UniGames

BACOLOD City — University of San Agustin in Iloilo City will host this year’s University Games (UniGames) from Oct. 20 to 28.

Playing venues and invitations to different public and private colleges and universities in the country were being finalized, said UniGames president Roger Banzuela.

Foundation University in Dumaguete City was supposed to host the19th edition of the sporting competitions, but it begged off.

Six more private schools may join starting this year, Banzuela revealed.

They are Arellano University, Philippine Normal University, Wesleyan University in Nueva Ecija, St. Joseph College of Bulacan, San Pedro College of Davao, and the Philippine State College of Aeronautics in Pasay City.

Thirteen sporting events included in this year’s UniGames were athletics, badminton, basketball, chess, football, karatedo, lawn tennis, sepak takraw, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, and beach volleyball./PN
