ILOILO City – Uniwheels Cards Display was hailed as champion in the JB Amateur Basketball League Elite 1 on Saturday evening at the Powerhouse Gymnasium here.
Uniwheels completed a sweep of their best-of-three titular showdown with Asialink/E&C Trucking in the inaugural basketball league with an 84-80 escape on Game 2.
Mark Ceniza was hailed as the player of the match after displaying his game long brilliance with 22 points, eight rebounds and three blocks.
Prior to the title-clinching victory, Uniwheels drew first blood in the championship series with a 78-72 Game 1 win over Asialink/E&C Trucking last week.
Meanwhile, the Elite 2 championship match between the ODM Sportswear and OJNA/IYB Mobile Bar Crocodiles is slated on Monday evening at the same venue.
The ODM Sportswear reached the finals after defeating JKG/CTG Commercial, 82-79, while OJNA/IYB Mobile Bar Crocodiles ousted Beachwalk Jollyfeet Malditos in the other semis game, 72-59./PN
