ILOILO City – It is the rejigged roster of the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons and San Beda University Red Lions that will clash in the two-day exhibition matches at the City of Passi Arena and University of San Agustin gym on March 14 and 15, respectively.
According to organizer Rodolfo Villaruz, the two-day collegiate ballers’ showdown will display the preparations done by the two teams who suffered heartbreaking defeats in the collegiate leagues last year.
Curiously, prior to the two-day exhibition games, the Fighting Maroons and the Red Lions are also scheduled to face off in the semifinals of the Philippine Collegiate Champions League on March 7.
UP is set to unveil its new recruits Maodo Malick Diouf, Conrad Catapusan, Joel Cagulangan, Samuel Dowd, Miguel Ramos, Alain Madrigal, Jose Norberto De Liano and Matt Santiago.
Also in the team of head coach Dolreich Perasol were holdovers Ricci Rivero, James Spencer, Bright Akhuetie, Noah Webb, Kobe Paras, David Murrell and John Winifred Gob II.
San Beda, on the other hand, will be bannered by Bacolodnon Ralph Penuela, reigning NCAA Most Valuable Player Calvin Oftana, Prince Entrata, Dan Villejo, James Kwekuteye, Pedro Alfaro, Franz Abuda, Miguel Ratuiste and John Bahio.
Also in the lineup of the NCAA Season 95 runner-up are Alex Visser, Damie Cuntapay, Kemark Carino, Resty Fornis, Marcus Jerome Ejercito and Emmanuel Oliver Tagle.
