ILOILO City – Financial assistance will be given to the victims of the landslide in Barangay Igpigus, Igbaras, Iloilo last week.
Families whose houses were totally damaged will get P5,000 cash each while those with partially damaged houses, P3,000 each, said Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office chief Neneth Q. Pador.
The cash aid will be taken from the P50 million allocated for the Assistance to Individuals and Families in Crisis Situation of the provincial government, said Pador.
Pador added that she planned to request for more financial assistance from Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr.
As of this writing the PSWDO was still waiting for an official report from the local government of Igbaras with regard to the final number of totally damaged and partially damaged houses.
Igbaras accounted for 47 houses damaged during the Aug. 4 landslide as of Aug. 9. Eighteen of these were totally damaged while 29 were partially damaged, said Mayor Vicente Escorpion Jr.
The PSWDO said the victims will be given the financial assistance upon submission of the following requirements:
* police blotter
* picture of the damaged house
* Certificate of Residency from the barangay captain
* Certificate of Indigency from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office
* identification card of the claimant
PSWDO personnel will also provide the 58 affected families (223 individuals) with psychosocial intervention, said Pador./PN
