IN commemoration of its 75th anniversary, the University of San Agustin (USA) College of Law will highlight the celebration with series of activities every Saturday for the whole month of August.
The celebration commenced last July 27 with an exhibit at SM City Iloilo showcasing the College’s history and distinguished alumni. The exhibit in the mall ran until August 1, but it is still on display at the Iloilo Hall of Justice.
A fun run dubbed as “Diamond Run” was held on August 2, which was participated in by more than 400 students, alumni, and other participants including Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog. The fun run was followed by a mass held at the USA Extension Campus in Sambag, Jaro and “Laro ng Lahi” wherein the alumni and students battled in traditional Filipino games.
August was reserved for the Billiards and Bowling Fellowship Night held at St. Elizabeth Billiards and Bowling Alleys (SEBBA) at 5:30 in the afternoon.
On August 16, a talk on “Modes of Discovery” will be given by alumnus Atty. Hector Teodosio to be held at the Wenceslao de La Paz (WDLP) Hall at 2 p.m.
Meanwhile, another alumnus, Atty. Raphael Lotilla will discuss about “Legal and Policy Aspects of the Electric Power Industry Reform Act” on August 23 at the USA Nursing Review Center at 2 p.m.
The highlight of USA College of Law Diamond Anniversary celebration will be the Grand Alumni Homecoming on August 30.
It will have a series of activities from morning until evening.
The culmination night, which is dubbed as “An Evening Legal Affair,” will be held on the same day at Sheridan Boutique Resort in Oton, Iloilo at 7 p.m.
The event will be graced by Supreme Court Senior Justice Antonio T. Carpio as the guest of honor and guest speaker.
The diamond anniversary celebration of the USA College of Law is being spearheaded by the college and its alumni association.
