USWAG ILONGGO BOOSTS SPORTS & EDUCATION: P80-M sports complex breaks ground in Passi City; P3.85-M educational aid distributed in Iloilo’s 4th Dist.

PASSI CITY, Iloilo – An P80-million sports complex officially broke ground at Passi City College on Monday, August 19, marking a significant development for the city’s educational infrastructure.

The groundbreaking ceremony was led by Uswag Ilonggo Party-list’s Cong. James “Jojo” Ang Jr., Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. represented by Atty. Dennis Ventilacion, and 4th District’s Cong. Ferjenel Biron.

This new facility, the second of its kind in Iloilo Province’s 4th District following the complex at Iloilo State University of Fisheries, Science and Technology, will feature a rubberized oval, an improved grandstand, perimeter fencing, and provisions for a future Olympic-sized swimming pool. The project is set to be completed in 250 days, promising to enhance athletic programs and opportunities for students in Western Visayas.

In a separate event, Cong. Ang and Cong. Biron distributed P3.85 million in educational assistance to students from the district. The financial aid is aimed at easing the burden of college expenses for deserving students.

A total of 385 college students received P10,000 each for the second time since last year’s program launching.

The distribution ceremony was attended by key local leaders including Atty. Ventilacion representing Governor Defensor; Provincial Board member Rolly Distura; and the mayors of various municipalities, Nathalie Ann Debuque of Anilao, Stephen Palmares of Passi City, Peter Paul Gonzales of Banate, and Robert Martin Pama of Dueñas.
