ILOILO City – Uswag Ilonggo party-list’s Rep. James “Jojo” Ang is eyeing more development projects for the Ilonggos.
The solon also vowed to support ongoing infrastructure projects in Iloilo City that need more funding for their completion.
“Ang mga proyekto sa syudad nga tinguhaan namon ni mayor amo ang… wala labot sa (Jaro) gym, ang mga multipurpose buildings para sa mga kabarangayan,” said Ang, who joined Monday’s regular press conference of Mayor Jerry P. Treñas.
Ang initially facilitated the allocation of P75 million for the new Jaro gym that will be built in an open area in Alta Tierra Village in Jaro district.
The existing gym in Jaro plaza will be demolished to give way to the redevelopment of the plaza which is currently ongoing.
If the project will be needing more budget for its completion, Ang vowed to source out more funds.
Aside from the Jaro gym, Ang also pledged to do his best to get funding for a fountain at the Sunburst Park as well as for the rehabilitation of Fort San Pedro in the City Proper.
The Uswag Ilonggo representative said he was also working on the budget for drainage projects to solve flooding in the city, additional funding for the completion/extension of the Iloilo Esplanade up to the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand, as well as additional funding for the Iloilo City Hospital.
For Iloilo province, Ang said he would make good on his “the one town, one project” pledge.
“Tinguhaan naton nga may ara kita concrete project sa tagsa-tagsa ka banwa. Ining one town, one project is part sang aton Uswag five-point agenda. Hopefully soon ara na,” he said.
Uswag Ilonggo is a multi-sectoral party-list which prioritizes progress and the welfare of Ilonggos family via a five-point agenda. These are the well-being of every Ilonggo family; proper healthcare for the poor; consistent programs on infrastructure and tourism; agriculture and fisheries; and education, especially more scholarships for the youth./PN
