VALDERRAMA, Antique – The municipal government bought two dump trucks to be used for its disaster response such as transporting or rescuing people and delivering relief assistance.

The trucks would also be used to deliver provisions to residents on lockdown due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

According to Mayor Mary Joyce Roquero, the trucks may also be used to implement and monitor projects.

Funds used to buy the trucks were sourced from the local government unit’s 20 percent development fund for fiscal year 2021.

The dump trucks were inaugurated on July 4. Reverend Father Sanny Esparar, parochial vicar of the Roman Catholic Parish of St. Luke the Evangelist- Valderrama, blessed them too.

Just this June 29, the local government turned over a multi-cab vehicle to Barangay Bakiang. It would be used for disaster rescue / evacuation operations, project implementation and monitoring purposes.

Funds for it  were from the Local Government Support Fund – Financial Assistance (LGSF-FA) – Other Financial Assistance to LGUs./PN
