BACOLOD City – Former and present volleyball players (men and women) from at least 12 schools in this city, Dumaguete and Iloilo cities are holding their first grand reunion here tomorrow.
Dubbed as the “1st Grand Reunion of Coach Roger Banzuela’s Volleyball Teammates and Players,” the athletes from 1972 up to 2014 will “face to face” in a mass dinner fellowship.
The players are from the following:
- University of St. La Salle (Bacolod City)
- West Negros University (Bacolod City)
- La Consolacion College-Bacolod
- St. John’s Institute (Bacolod City)
- Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod
- University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (Bacolod City)
- Central Philippine University (Iloilo City)
- Iloilo Doctor’s College (Iloilo City)
- University of San Agustin (Iloilo City)
- John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Iloilo City)
- Foundation University (Dumaguate City), and
- Silliman University (Dumaguate City).
Banzuela played with or coached these players in regional, national and international volleyball competitions.
Banzuela is the former president of the Philippine Volleyball Federation and is also the president of the University Games (UniGames)), Negros Occidental Volleyball Association (NOVA) and Western Visayas PRISAA Technical director.
The event theme is “Celebrating 42 years of Volleyball as a Way of Life.”/PN
