ILOILO – Ilonggos fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) may now secure vaccination certificates via the VaxCertPH portal.

The steps are simple: Visit vaxcert.doh.gov.ph and fill up the necessary information.

On Monday, VaxCertPH portal was launched by the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT-VI) in this province.

“This is now open for the general public starting Oct. 28 including the province of Iloilo,” said Engineer Joel Garcera, focal person of the Vaccine Information Management System (VIMS).

The vaccination data are drawn from the local government units (LGUs) and stored in a database called the VIMS being managed by the DICT.

“They no longer need to go to their LGUs or government offices. They can just visit the link and encode the data from their vaccination card. Then that person can already generate his or her own vaccination certificate,” Garcera added.

The document may be stored in mobile phones or printed and laminated.

Residents may seek the assistance of their LGUs to rectify inaccurate data.

Provincial health officer, Dr. Maria Socorro Quiñon said it is important to get a vaccination certificate to ensure easy travel.

Several LGUs, including this province, have listed vaccination certificate as a requirement for domestic travel.

This province is under Alert Level 2. Returning residents and non-residents may present their vaccination certifications upon entry.

As of Nov. 3, a total of 374,462 Ilonggos have been fully vaccinated.(With Capitol news/PN).
