ILOILO – A man was declared “dead on arrival” at the Western Visayas Sanitarium in Sta. Barbara town. His motorcycle crashed against a tricycle in the town’s Brgy. Lanag around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18.
Police identified the victim as John Orly Trojillo, a resident of Brgy. Tigtig, Sta. Barbara.
The driver of the tricycle, meanwhile, was identified as Alexander Solacito, 39, of Brgy. Cafe, also of the same town.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Ian Sumagaysay of the Sta. Barbara Municipal Police Station (MPS), Solacito was on his way home on his tricycle from the town’s Brgy. Poblacion when the motorcycle-riding Trojillo went out of his lane and collided with the former’s tricycle.
Due to the strong impact, Trojillo, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown into the canal.
Sumagaysay added that both drivers were under the influence of intoxicating liquor./PN
